1940s Jean Royère Oak Credenza
Rare oak buffet by Jean Royère. Cast iron make up the piece’s legs and decorative accents in an elaborate wave-like pattern. This buffet was custom designed and produced in 1943 and was later on archived at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. From the archives of Jean Royère, after establishing himself in the cabinetmaking trade, Royère found immediate success in interior design as a key figure of Avant-garde in the 1950s. Royère pioneered an original style combining bright colors, organic forms and precious materials within a wide range of imaginative accomplishments. Documentation shows when the buffet was first produced and published in the indicated magazines.
