Abstract Wall Sculpture by Eve Tartar

This noteworthy abstract wall sculpture by Eve Tartar almost resembles an expanded Slinky. It has the words “THOUGHT FORM” printed in the right hand corner, making it a thought provoking centrepiece for any space.

Eve Tartar was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY in 1910 to Russian immigrants from the Ukraine, and moved to Carmel Valley, CA staying until her death in 2000. In the solitude of her California studio, Eve developed her own technique as a sculptress and collage artist. Building on the principles of abstract expressionism, she explored form, color, and relationships using wood, paint, and thousands of pieces of cut paper. She developed a distinctive style of collage featuring an evolving exploration of elemental forms and spatial relationships. These abstract expressions included wood sculptures, three dimensional collage paintings, large murals, and collage miniatures.
