Austrian Midcentury Shoehorn in Brass and Leather by Carl Aubock
This Mid-Century Modern shoehorn is cleverly fashioned in leather and brass by the masterful Viennese designer Carl Aubock (1900-1957). The object’s shape is that of an elongated shoe with a brass heel that is meant to be used as a handle. Auböck received four gold medals at the Triennal di Milano in 1954 amongst many other accolades. The shoehorn was obtained directly from the estate of fellow creative, Bert Miripolsky, a dear friend of Auböck.
