“Dancing Clowns” Drawing by Lenard Kester
Whimsical framed black and white drawing by Lenard Kester, tilted “Dancing Clowns”. Autographed and signed by artist on May 16, 1955: “For little Peter Heumann, on his birthday best wishes for all the good things of life.” Kester is an American artist born in 1917 in New York City. He moved to Los Angeles in 1939 to work with W. Disney, and later on focused on his art full time. His work is represented in many private collections throughout the United State. He has held twenty-six one-man exhibitions in museums and art galleries throughout the U.S.A., including the Oakland Museum, Boston Museum of Modern Art, Los Angeles Museum, M. H. De Young Museum in San Francisco, Knoedler Galleries in New York, to mention a few, and has participated in all major national exhibitions, receiving over forty awards for his work.
