Lacquer Side Table with Cabinet by Rougier, Pair

This pair of lacquered cream side tables by Rougier each feature a cabinet behind push-to-open doors. The classic design of the units begins with the slightly inverted top which is differentiated from the doors by a rounded brass band. Similarly, the top three levels of the tiered base are separated by the same rounded brass band. The lowest level of the base is inverted to give the units the appearance of floating.
Rougier was a company based in Montreal, Canada that specialised in bedroom sets, dressers, nightstands, coffee tables and lamps (most of them lacquered).
