Framed black and white landscape watercolor by James McCray (1912-1993), signed by the artist and dated 1976. McCray taught at the California School of Fine Arts in San Francisco during the 1940's. He had solo and group exhibitions from 1935-1966. Among them: Oakland Art Gallery in 1935, Golden Gate International Exposition in 1940, 57th Annual Painting and Sculpture Exhibition San Francisco Art Association at the San Francisco Museum of Art in 1937. Third-Fifth Winter Invitational, California Palace of the Legion of Honor in 1962, 1963, 1964. Salon de Realite, Paris and Institute of Creative Arts Grant in 1965-1966. This watercolor is part of a series depicting places the artist visited. Black stained frame.
