The digital arts have ushered in a new paradigm in artistic creation at the end of the 20th century. The use of data processing does not diminish the value of a work, as demonstrated by this perfectly constructed, deep, and hypnotic numeric vectorial rosette, but appears necessary in building a flawless whirlpool structure and frame to obtain a maximum effect whether it addresses the heart or the intellect.
Blue is a crucial element in this piece appearing with three different values that give relief to the work. An evident homage to the Blue Klein which was for him an introspection tool of a life-research. The both together, rosett and the colour blue are two common symbols used in art especially in the spiritual dimension. Whether it is a treatment of a rosette found on Gothic cathedrals or the Tibetan mandala (the Wheel of Life), both are complex round shapes with a centre inviting the viewer's immediate cerebral balance to introspection and meditation on the ephemeral nature of life, its contrasts and intensity but also on its beauty.
This work sits in a deep aluminium frame and has been created by Swiss artist Laurent Rigoni, not yet recognised but will be soon!
