Listed American artist Aubrey John Robert Penny was born in Texas in 1917 and eventually moved to Southern California, where he passed in 2000. He achieved both a BA and MA in Art from UCLA, where he served as a member of the art council from 1955 to the 1970s. His works have exhibited at LACMA (1954-7) and in Deauville, France. He is deemed the originator of the "No-osism" style, which focuses on the mind in the continuum and the delicate reactions that occur within the brain that lead to feeling and action.
